Chiropractic for Children
Birth is the first trauma in life. The first misalignment can be detrimental for life. Children with chronic ear infections, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, tonsillitis, coordination problems, repetitive injuries, a tendency of falling frequently, postural problems or high muscle tension should have their spine checked for subluxations.
After getting adjusted, it is important to develop a properly balanced, strong muscle system. Having experience as a coach and physical therapist, I am highly trained and specialized in teaching the proper exercises to fit each individual - children, adolescents as well as adults. I will assist you in changing the pattern of movements if necessary, and advise you with your personal training.
Tips for a safe Spine
Be careful not to slouch
while sitting or standing.
Try not to lift heavy objects with your back.
Bend your knees and use your legs to lift.
Carry your backpack
on your shoulders.
If you play video games in front of the TV,
try to take breaks every 10 minutes and
move your neck, back and shoulders around.
While watching TV sit on the floor cross legged
with your back straight instead of lying on your
stomach with your hands supporting your head.
Shoving your friends in the back or pushing them down can hurt their spines! Be careful how you play.
When reading at your desk, lift your book or homework to eye level.
While writing or coloring, sit at a table or desk, not on the floor.
When pushing your friends in swings, use their hips
or the swing chain; don't push them on their back.
Sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees or lay on your back.
